Abstract
Dirofilariasis is the most common transmissible zoonotic nematodosis in Europe, whose clinical manifestations are caused by the migration of immature helminths through human tissues or internal organs. Clinically, it is characterized by slow development and a long-term course, and morphologically — by chronic granulomatous inflammation, often with microabscess.
The work presents the description of a clinical case of dirofilariasis of the pleura, the diagnosis of which was performed only at the stage of the histological examination of the surgical material.
