Abstract

The effect of phytoadaptogens (currant, great bilberry, bird cherry and some other) on the¹³⁷Cs elimination from rats’ bodies was under study. It was proved that pectins contained in phytoadaptogens were responsible for¹³⁷Cs elimination from rats’ bodies. The applied phytoadaptogens were subdivided into two categories. Some of them accelerated¹³⁷Cs elimination by 9-28 %, the other retarded this process (bird cherry decreased the rate of elimination by 11 %). The half-life of elimination was determined for all phytoadaptogens. The obtained data can be applied to predict the effect of phytoadaptogens on the¹³⁷Cs elimination from rats’ bodies.
