В статье дается краткий обзор современной литературы по эпидемиологии, этиологическим и патогенетическим факторам язвенного колита. Большое внимание уделено экономическим аспектам этого заболевания. Указаны сегодняшние тенденции в развитии проблемы язвенного колита, обозначены вопросы, требующие немедленного решения. Приведены результаты собственных исследований.

The article gives a brief overview of recent literature on the epidemiology, etiologic and pathogenetic factors of ulcerative colitis. Great attention is paid to economic aspects of this disease. Indicated the current trends in the development problems of ulcerative colitis, outlining issues that require immediate solutions. Proposed results of own research.
