Обзор посвящен проблемам идентификации и классификации пробиотических видов бифидобактерий, широко используемых для производства лечебно-профилактических препаратов и продуктов функционального питания. Рассматриваются перспективы создания принципиально новых пробиотических препаратов на основе известных промышленных штаммов и возможности расширения сферы их применения.

The review is devoted to the problems of identification and classification of probiotic strains of bifidobacteria that are widely used in manufacturing of medications and functional food products. It also discusses prospects of development of new probiotic products on the base of well-known commercial strains and possibilities of their wider use in different areas.
