<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The present review covers infectious complications after the application of vascular prostheses for the reconstruction of aorta and iliac arteries. The etiology, pathogenesis and clinical manifestations of the complications have been given a detailed description in the article. The basic groups of microorganisms which can cause the complications have been singled out and differences in the clinical course of the disease depending on the type of the bacteria have been described. The main risk factors for prosthetic contamination have been indicated.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>инфекция протеза</kwd><kwd>искусственный протез</kwd><kwd>нагноение</kwd><kwd>аорто-бедренная реконструкция</kwd><kwd>prosthetic infection</kwd><kwd>vascular prosthesis</kwd><kwd>suppuration</kwd><kwd>aorto-femoral surgery</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Adhesion of Staphylococcus epidermidis to biomedical polymers: contributions of surface thermodynamics and hemodynamic shear conditions / I.
